Dear Parents/Guardians,

Last week, an unfortunate set of circumstances led to all sections being closed.
All of our leaders are volunteers who work shifts and have their own families to look after. Each section must have a minimum of a qualified section leader and an assistant leader. Squirrels also have the support of parent helpers.

Occasionally, we take holidays away from work or sometimes our work over runs and clashes with the Wednesday section meetings. If one or two of us are not able to make it, then usually we can move sections around or join two sections, which mean we can provide the sessions for the children.
However, this was not possible last week hence the last minute messages.
Cancelling is the last resort for us.

To help reduce this happening in the future and provide us with more options to cover the sections, I would like to ask parents to consider stepping up and take on an assistant leader role.

Wednesday 13th March.
We have been informed by the school, that this Wednesday the whole school will be taken up with parents’ evening. Therefore, the school have cancelled our meeting for this week.
We have tried to find other options for the sections, rather than cancel another week, but unfortunately we’ve not been able to secure a suitable location to accommodate the number of children we have.
All new children that were due to start, will now start on Wednesday 20th March.

These situations are completely out of our control and I’m aware of how frustrating it is for you and your child. Therefore, I will be reducing April’s subs payments by 50% for those parents who’s payments are up to date. This will be a one-off reduction.
